Aaron C. Brinkman***

Mr. Brinkman has substantial experience in a broad range of cases involving antitrust and complex litigation, regulatory clearance of mergers in the United States and Europe, and antitrust and white collar criminal investigations. In particular, Mr. Brinkman has represented plaintiffs and defendants in antitrust and class action litigation, including a federal direct purchaser price-fixing class action, a bid-rigging litigation involving substantial foreign discovery and government and private antitrust actions under Sherman Act §§ 1& 2 and Clayton Act § 7. Mr. Brinkman has advocated for regulatory approval of mergers by U.S. and European competition authorities, including responses to Second Requests and civil investigative demands issued by the U.S. Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission; drafting portions of a Response to the Statement of Objections by the European Commission and preparing witnesses and testimony for an Oral Hearing before the Commission. Mr. Brinkman has also represented and counseled corporate clients who were the targets or subjects of criminal investigations initiated by the U.S. Department of Justice Antitrust Division, U.S. Attorneys’ offices and state Attorneys General.
Prior to joining Axinn, Veltrop & Harkrider LLP, Mr. Brinkman practiced in antitrust and white collar crime at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale & Dorr LLP in Washington, D.C.; and in antitrust litigation and regulatory clearance of mergers and acquisitions at Clifford Chance LLP in New York City. Mr. Brinkman is admitted in New York and the District of Columbia.
Mr. Brinkman is a member of the American Bar Association, Antitrust and Litigation Sections, the New York State Bar Association, the District of Columbia Bar, the New London County Bar Association, the Hartford County Bar Association and the American Economic Association.
