Maria E. Kokiasmenos
Associate
Ms. Kokiasmenos represents businesses engaged in complex litigation in federal and state courts, including products liability and insurance coverage disputes. Maria has obtained summary judgment in favor of clients in a number of coverage disputes and was part of a team that won summary judgment for the defendant in a putative class-action suit brought under ERISA.
Ms. Kokiasmenos was a member of the team that obtained Judgment of Dismissal for Purdue Pharma with respect to product liability, addiction and fraud claims allegedly arising out of use of OxyContin and defendant's 2007 guilty plea to misbranding the same.
Ms. Kokiasmenos was a member of the team that obtained summary judgment and affirmance by U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in disability insurance case for The Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company.
Ms. Kokiasmenos drafted the brief resulting in dismissal of civil RICO and tort claims for healthcare consulting company.
