Mr. Alexander’s practice focuses on antitrust (including antitrust litigation, merger clearance and antitrust counseling), trademark and copyright litigation, and complex litigation.  In antitrust, Mr. Alexander has handled antitrust aspects of dozens of mergers and acquisitions in a host of industries, including wireless and wireline telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, oil & gas, oil exploration services, consumer products, mining and minerals, insurance brokerages and business services.  His antitrust litigation experience has included the defense of a private party challenge to a media merger and the defense of conspiracy claims stemming from industry trade group activities.

In intellectual property litigation, Mr. Alexander has handled trademark cases involving disputes over the use of colors in trade dress, the ability of a purchaser of goodwill to claim a purchased company’s corporate  and an alleged failure to maintain the requisite standards for an industrial quality mark.  Mr. Alexander’s copyright experience includes several disputes concerning infringement of commercial illustrations.

In addition to antitrust and IP matters, Mr. Alexander has litigated a wide range of complex commercial disputes, including contract disputes among international investment consortium members, disputes involving oil and gas exploration rights and supply agreement disputes in the chemicals industry.
