Industry Experience
Many law firms have litigators. At AVH, our litigators are trial lawyers with national reputations. We have an extensive record of successfully trying high-stakes cases to verdict. Underscoring our reputation is the fact that clients routinely call on us to try mission-critical cases in the midst of or after the close of discovery.
AVH’s patent litigation team combines extensive trial experience and cutting-edge patent analysis with backgrounds in science and deep expertise in many industries. With a team of close to 20 registered patent attorneys, half of whom have advanced technical degrees or course work, we focus on all aspects of patent litigation and pre-litigation counseling and due diligence. AVH’s experience in complex litigation, across a broad spectrum of industries, complements our extensive involvement in patent and other intellectual property matters. Our attorneys litigate intellectual property cases in federal and state courts nationwide, as well as in arbitration proceedings.
Having served as counsel of record in approximately 20 patent litigations in 2010 alone, the firm emphasizes patent infringement litigation. We have devoted a significant portion of our practice to patent litigation and pre-litigation counseling in a wide range of industries. The firm has particularly extensive experience in pharmaceutical patent litigation. On behalf of patentees and prospective defendants, we have also successfully resolved many patent claims before they go to litigation.
AVH is well-positioned to handle issues at the intersection of patent and antitrust. We have, for example, litigated antitrust counterclaims and represented pharmaceutical clients in FTC investigations relating to the settlement of patent and Hatch-Waxman exclusivity disputes.
