Behnam Dayanim Speaks to The New York Times About Federal Authorities' Bid to Shut Down Online Gambling Sites and the Investigation of Full Tilt Poker

In poker circles, April 15, 2011 became known as Black Friday after Federal authorities shut down Full Tilt Poker as part of its investigation and bid to shut down the online gambling industry. Behnam Dayanim, co-chair of the Litigation and Regulatory Group and an internationally recognized Internet gambling expert, spoke with reporter Janet Morrissey at The New York Times about this investigation and accusations against Full Tilt Poker. In her article, Janet noted that the poker world now finds itself in a situation many liken to the failed Prohibition efforts. Dayanim, who served as the lead attorney who negotiated Partygaming's non-prosecution agreement with the Department of Justice and served as co-lead negotiating Optimal's NPA, said “It’s a game of whack-a-mole. They’ve whacked three very large moles, but over time, more moles will pop up.”
