Behnam Dayanim, co-chair of the Litigation and Regulatory Group and an internationally recognized Internet gambling expert, spoke with Nathan Vardi blogger of Forbes.com’s The Jungle about PartyGaming’s exit from the U.S. online gambling industry after Congress passed the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act in 2006. Dayanim also discussed PartyGaming’s vindication in April 2011 when federal prosecutors shut down the U.S. operations of PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker. “I think Party has been vindicated now in getting out when they did and in dealing with the Department of Justice,” said Dayanim, who negotiated PartyGaming’s non-prosecution agreement with federal prosecutors in Manhattan.
