Lauren Albert co-chairs AVH's Litigation and Regulatory Group. Her practice ranges from complex commercial litigation, including intellectual property and antitrust, to antitrust merger reviews, government investigations, and counseling.
Litigations include representing: Fossil Inc., Macy’s and other retailers in a patent/trademark infringement case; Actavis Pharmaceutical in trade dress litigation brought by Johnson & Johnson; Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. in obtaining dismissal of a false labeling case; DataCapture Solutions in an antitrust/Lanham Act matter; Group Health Inc. in successfully defeating the City of New York’s efforts to enjoin its merger with Health Insurance Plan of New York; Reading International, City Cinemas and Village East Limited Partnership in an antitrust litigation against a number of movie distributors and exhibitors; Purepac Pharmaceutical Co. in its successful action against the F.D.A. in the District Court in the District of Columbia to obtain a temporary restraining order to enjoin approval of a generic drug; Petra Selling in her successful recovery in a fraud and contract action against the Chairman of Emerson Radio; and The Stanley Works in defense of a patent infringement action brought by Therma-Tru Corporation.
Recent mergers include representing Bemis in its acquisition of the Food Americas’ Assets of Alcan, BellSouth in its merger with AT&T, GameStop Corp. in its acquisition of Electronics Boutique, MovieGallery in its acquisition of Hollywood Video, and BellSouth and Cingular in their acquisition of AT&T Wireless.
