Matthew Harris is an associate in the New York office. He is a member of the firm’s intellectual property litigation group.
Mr. Harris’s practice focuses on patent litigation. His current work includes the defense of infringement actions brought under the Hatch-Waxman Act and the drafting of notice letters in conjunction with Paragraph IV ANDA certifications. He also has experience with alternative dispute resolution.
After graduating from Clemson University, Mr. Harris pursued a Ph.D. in Physics at the University of Virginia. After completing the core curriculum there, he founded an internet application development firm. A full-time developer from 1997 – 2004, he focused on scalable, extensible, modular, object-oriented, customized e-commerce solutions providing payment processing, online data collection and management, dynamic content generation, automated subscription delivery and contact management on UNIX and UNIX–like platforms.
Mr. Harris received his law degree from Washington University in 2007. In law school, he represented indigent defendants at the St. Louis County Public Defenders’ Office. Upon graduating, he clerked for the Honorable Gordon J. Quist of the United States District Court for the Western District of Michigan.
